Transparent budget, responsible community

The goal of the project is to promote transparency and resident participation in the budget processes of the Artik community by ensuring accessible budget presentation, public dialogue, pilot implementation of participatory budgeting, and accessible provision of budget data.

The project is aimed at a wide range of community residents, as well as representatives of local self-government bodies, ensuring knowledge transfer, participatory experience and structural transparency. The group of beneficiaries includes both direct and indirect beneficiaries.

The project aims to form a new culture of budget transparency in the Artik community, where the community budget is perceived not only as a financial document, but also as a platform for public participation. As a result of the project implementation, an information, technical and engagement system will be formed, which will make budget processes more accessible and understandable.

The analytical component of the project, with a publicly accessible analysis of the budget, will contribute to raising the awareness of the population, and public meetings and the participatory budgeting pilot will transform residents from formal to real participants in the community decision-making process. As a result, trust in local government will increase, and public capacity for budgetary control will increase.

The last component, the visual budget presentation tool, will remain on the community website as a sustainable tool, ensuring the accessibility and usability of budget data even after the project, without additional intervention. All this will contribute to the formation of more transparent, accountable, and participatory local government in the long term.
