“Compass” Scientific Research, Educational and Consulting Center, together with its partners “NGO Center” Civil Society Development NGO, “Dilijan Youth Cooperation Center” NGO and “Information Systems Development and Training Center” NGO, is implementing the “Participatory Monitoring for the Creation of Smart Communities in Armenia” project within the framework of sub-grants provided by the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” program implemented through a consortium led by the “Armenian Lawyers Association” NGO.
The project will include the enlarged communities of Ashotsk and Akhuryan in Shirak region, Tumanyan and Stepanavan in Lori region, and Dilijan and Noyemberyan in Tavush region. In the mentioned communities, monitoring of services provided by local governments in the areas of garbage collection, lighting and maintenance of intra-community roads will be carried out, packages of proposals for improving public policy will be developed, and work will be carried out to promote population awareness and participation in the field of public administration.
The recruitment of monitors will continue until July 20, training until July 30, and monitoring activities will be carried out in August.
We invite all interested young people to participate in monitoring activities. The work will provide the monitors with the opportunity to closely familiarize themselves with the regulation of processes implemented in the above-mentioned three sectors in the communities, the peculiarities and methods of budgeting by sector, and their control mechanisms. The work will be paid according to the number of completed questionnaires.

The budget of the “Participatory Monitoring for the Creation of Smart Communities in Armenia” project is 24 million 986 thousand AMD, of which 22 million 516 thousand AMD was provided by the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” program. The duration of the project is from June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2019.
